Antimicrobial Spectrum

Trius designs compounds with expanded spectrum by using structure-based-drug-design across multiple orthologs (the same enzyme from different species). We rapidly generate, crystallize and structurally characterize orthologs of the target in all important pathogens. By specifically designing our inhibitors to bind to the structurally conserved regions of the active-sites of the different orthologs, we are able to generate compounds with expanded antimicrobial spectrum.
