Previously, he was a Vice President at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals and, before that, Vice President of Anti-Infectives Clinical Research at Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Dr Prokocimer joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1987 at Abbott France, before his transfer to Abbott Park, IL, for the development of clarithromycin (Biaxin). He has been involved in the submissions and approvals of 5 NDA and 4 MAA's for new chemical entities during his pharmaceutical career including the antibiotics doripenem, Synercid, Zagam (sparfloxacin) and Biaxin (clarithromycin). Dr. Prokocimer is board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine from Centre Hospitalier-Universitaire Bichat . He earned his M.D. from the School of Medicine (Centre Hospitalier-Universitaire Pitie-Salpetriere) in Paris, France and undertook his post-doctoral research fellowship in adrenergic pharmacology at Stanford University (1984-1986).
