John Schmid, Chief Financial Officer,

has over 20 years of experience in financial and senior management. Prior to co-founding Trius, John was the Chief Financial Officer of GeneFormatics, Inc., which he co-founded with scientists from The Scripps Research Institute. Prior to GeneFormatics, John held the positions of Chief Financial Officer of Endonetics, Inc. (acquired by Medtronic), Associate with Idanta Partners, a San Diego venture capital firm, Vice President at Home Fed Bank and Financial Analyst for J.P. Morgan. He served as a Board member for over 10 years and was Past President of the San Diego Venture Group. Mr. Schmid received a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University and an MBA from the University of San Diego.
